Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment, reappointment to the Michigan Board of Cosmetology

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Kathryn Wilkinson of Howell as well as the reappointment of Danielle Kruithoff of Holland to the Michigan Board of Cosmetology.
The nine-member board advises and assists the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs in overseeing the cosmetology profession.
“I thank Kathryn and Danielle for their commitment to overseeing Michigan cosmetologists,” Snyder said.
Appointment:
Wilkinson is an instructor with Huron Valley Beauty Academy for Saline Area Schools, and previously served as a stylist at Evolve Salon and Spa. She holds an associate’s degree in cosmetology management from Schoolcraft College and a bachelor’s of business administration degree from Eastern Michigan University. She will represent cosmetologists actively engaged in the teaching of cosmetology and replaces Angela Haley.
Reappointment:
Kruithoff is a stylist at Salon Cheveux. She has won Grand Rapids’ Art Prize “Style Battle” and her styling is featured in multiple magazines. She will continue to represent cosmetologists.
Appointees will serve four-year terms expiring Dec. 31, 2020. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
