Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointment to the Michigan Gaming Control Board

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Carla Walker-Miller of Detroit to the Michigan Gaming Control Board.
The five-member board oversees licensing and regulations for commercial casinos in Detroit. No more than three members can be from the same political party.
"I thank Carla for her continued commitment to regulating Detroit casinos and protecting consumers,” Snyder said.
Walker-Miller is president and CEO of Walker-Miller Energy Services, LLC, as well as the president of the Michigan chapter of American Association of Blacks in Energy. She previously served as a commissioner for the Detroit Water and Sewer Department and holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Tennessee State University. She will continue representing Democrats.
Walker-Miller will serve a four-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2020. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
