Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to Western Michigan University Board of Trustees

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Lynn Chen-Zhang of Portage to the Western Michigan University Board of Trustees.
The eight-member board is the governing body of the University.
“I thank Lynn for her commitment to serve on this board and I believe her experiences will help the university continue to succeed,” Snyder said.
Chen-Zhang is a partner and chief operating officer with Zhang Financial. She is a certified financial planner and a certified public accountant, and was ranked as one of the nation’s Top Women Financial Advisors by Barron’s and Financial Times. Chen-Zhang is vice president of the Western Michigan University Foundation and serves on the Foundation’s Board of Directors, Investment Committee, and Committee on Directors. Chen-Zhang holds a master’s degree in accountancy from Western Michigan University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She also attended the Executive Education program at Columbia University. She will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Dana Debel.
Chen-Zhang will serve the remainder of an eight-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2018. The appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
