LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Katy Sherwood of Farwell to the Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Monument Fund Commission.
The seven-member commission oversees the financing, design, and construction of Michigan's future Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.
“I thank Katy for serving on this important commission. The work she and her fellow commissioners do will ensure the sacrifices our law enforcement officers made will never be forgotten,” Snyder said.
Sherwood is a forensic interview specialist with the Northern Michigan Mobile Child Advocacy Center and previously served as a children’s services specialist at the Gladwin County Department of Human Services. Sherwood holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Saginaw Valley State University. She is a surviving spouse representing the Michigan Sheriff's Association and will replace Kathy Cole.
Sherwood will serve a four-year term expiring June 30, 2020.
