LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointments of Krista Beach of Byron Center, Sean Bertolino of Williamston, Roxanna Duntley-Matos of Kalamazoo and Randy Richardville of Monroe to the Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board.
The 11-person board promotes the health, safety, and welfare of Michigan's children and families by funding local programs and services that prevent child abuse and neglect.
“I thank these individuals for their commitment to ensuring the health and safety of Michigan children and families," said Snyder.
Beach is a homeschool teacher with more than 19 years of teaching experience. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and a master’s degree from Grand Valley State University. Beach will represent the general public and replaces Lori Wortz.
Bertolino is a processor at Jackson National Life, a Williamston City Councilman and holds a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. Bertolino will represent parents and replace John Brown.
Duntley-Matos is an assistant professor at Western Michigan University in the School of Social Work. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in anthropology from Michigan State University, and a master’s degree in social work and Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. She will represent the general public and replace Deb Shaughnessy.
Richardville is CEO of RJames Consulting, LLC., and previously served as state Senate Majority Leader. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Albion College and a master’s degree from Aquinas College. Richardville will represent the business community and replaces Mark McDaniel.
Beach, Bertolino and Duntley-Matos will serve three-year terms expiring Dec. 19, 2019. Richardville is being appointed chair of the board and will serve at the pleasure of the governor. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
