Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to the Governor's Traffic Safety Advisory Commission

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Chief James Carmody, director of Police and Fire Services for the City of Wyoming, to the Governor’s Traffic Safety Advisory Commission.
Housed within the Michigan State Police Office of Highway Safety Planning, the 11-member commission identifies traffic safety challenges and works to develop, promote, and implement strategies to support traffic safety programs.
"I thank James for his commitment to protecting Michiganders on the road," said Snyder.
Carmody also serves on the Executive Board of the Children’s Assessment Center in Grand Rapids. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Michigan – Flint. He will represent local government and replaces Chief David Molloy, director of Novi Public Safety.
Carmody will serve a three-year term expiring May 27, 2020.
