Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointment to the Michigan Strategic Fund Board of Directors

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Wayne Wood of Marlette to the Michigan Strategic Fund Board of Directors.

The 11-member board has authority over economic development and job creation in the state through the Michigan Business Development Program, Michigan Community Revitalization Program, Travel Michigan, private activity bonds, Community Development Block Grant awards, and as fiduciary agent for the 21st Century Jobs Fund.

“I thank Wayne for his continued commitment to promoting economic growth and opportunities for Michiganders,” Snyder said.

Wood is a dairy farmer who previously served more than 30 years for the Michigan Farm Bureau, serving 14 years as president. He was previously a director on the American Farm Bureau Federation and served on the Agricultural Preservation Fund Board. Wood was influential in developing and maintaining the resources generated for the Livestock Initiative and Project GREEN.

Wood will serve a four-year term expiring Feb. 28, 2021. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the state Senate.
