Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointments to the Michigan Strategic Fund Board of Directors

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointments of Stephen Hicks of Marquette and Paul Gentilozzi of Lansing to the Michigan Strategic Fund.

The 11-member board has authority over economic development and job creation in the state through the Michigan Business Development Program, Michigan Community Revitalization Program, Travel Michigan, private activity bonds, Community Development Block Grant awards, and as fiduciary agent for the 21st Century Jobs Fund.

“I thank Stephen and Paul for their commitment to this board and to economic development in Michigan,” Snyder said.

Hicks is the president and CEO of JM Longyear LLC, a family owned company with enterprise value in timber, minerals and downstream natural resource manufacturing businesses. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Michigan Technological University. He will fill a vacancy created by a previous restructuring of the board.

Gentilozzi is the president of Gentilozzi Real Estate and a managing partner of 3GT Racing. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Michigan State University. He will serve as the nominee of the Speaker of the House and fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Daniel Boge.

Hicks will serve a four-year term expiring Feb. 28, 2021 and Gentilozzi will serve at the pleasure of the governor. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the state Senate.
