Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to the Talent Investment Board

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Joseph Billig of Mason to the Talent Investment Board.

The Governor’s Talent Investment Board is charged with advising and assisting the Governor regarding compliance with the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014. The board brings together employers, organized labor, and community-based organizations, including apprenticeship programs to make recommendations on how to best develop workforce talent across the state.

"I thank Joseph for his commitment to serving on this important board. I am confident his background will be helpful in making sure Michigan cultivates the most talented workforce possible,” Snyder said.

Billig is a state office administrator for the Workforce Development Agency and has worked with the State of Michigan for more than 26 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Michigan.

Billig will serve an initial two-year term expiring April 15, 2019.
