Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointment to the Board of Health and Safety Compliance and Appeals

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Kim Dennison of Laingsburg to the Board of Health and Safety Compliance and Appeals.

The seven-member board reviews all contested Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) cases, including safety and health citations, orders, and appeals.

"I thank Kim for her continued commitment to ensuring safety and health standards are upheld in Michigan," Snyder said.

Dennison is owner and founding member of Absolute Learning Success, an American Safety and Health Institute authorized training center. She also serves as an Occupational Health Nurse for the Michigan Laborers’ Training and Apprenticeship Institute, and an occupational health nurse providing care to General Motors’ employees in Lansing. She holds an associate’s degree in applied science from Lansing Community College, a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix, and a master’s degree in occupational nursing from the University of North Carolina. She will continue to represent labor in the health industry.

Dennison will serve a four-year term expiring March 31, 2021. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
