Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointments to the Michigan Compensation Appellate Commission

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Danielle Brown of Lansing and Phillip Hendges of Lansing to the Michigan Compensation Appellate Commission.
The nine-member commission reviews appeals decisions in cases involving unemployment insurance benefits and workers' compensation.
"Danielle and Phillip have years of valuable experience and I thank them for their continued commitment to this commission,” Snyder said.
Brown has been a member of the commission since 2011. Previously, she was an administrative law judge in the Michigan Administrative Hearing System, and served as a law clerk and assistant deputy legal counsel for the governor of Michigan from 2006-2008. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and a law degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
Hendges has been a member of the commission since 2015. He was previously an attorney in the Office of Regulatory Reinvention, a policy advisor for the Senate Majority Policy Office, and a legislative director in the office of state Sen. Alan Sanborn. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Albion College and a law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
Brown and Hendges will serve four-year terms expiring July 31, 2021. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
