LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of John Byrd of Marshall to the Michigan Board of Respiratory Care.
Housed within the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, the 11-member board assists in overseeing the licensing requirements and standards for Michigan's respiratory therapists.
"I thank John for his commitment to upholding the licensing requirements of respiratory therapists in Michigan," Snyder said. “I am confident his experience will make him an asset to this board.”
Byrd is the deputy manager of constituent relations in the Executive Office of Governor Rick Snyder. He serves on the Presbyterian Center for Children Board of Directors, and is the secretary for the Calhoun County Hospital Finance Authority. He attended Spring Arbor College and holds an associate’s degree from Kellogg Community College. He will represent the general public and replace Patrick Monks.
Byrd will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2018. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
