Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to the Automobile Theft Prevention Authority Board of Directors

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Gene Adamczyk of Saugatuck to the Automobile Theft Prevention Authority Board of Directors.

Housed in the Michigan State Police, the seven-member board consists of law enforcement officials, automobile insurers and consumers of automobile insurance. In partnership with law enforcement agencies, prosecutors’ offices, and nonprofit community organizations, the board works to reduce auto thefts in the state.

“I thank Gene for his commitment to this board and his efforts to help prevent auto theft across Michigan,” Snyder said.

Adamczyk is a district supervisor for the Western District of Michigan for Walden Security’s Federal Services Division. He previously served as the Inspector General for the Michigan Department of Community Health and served is numerous roles in his 40 years with the Michigan State Police. Adamczyk holds a bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University and a master of public administration from Western Michigan University. He will represent purchasers of auto insurance of this state and fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Patrick Dolan.

He will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring July 1, 2018.  His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
