LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Samantha West of Lansing to the Michigan Board of Marriage and Family Therapy.
The nine-member board assists the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs in overseeing the practice of more than 800 marriage and family therapists.
“I thank Samantha for her commitment to this board and I am confident her contributions will positively impact the practices of marriage and family therapists statewide,” Snyder said.
West is the executive administrator and extradition coordinator in the Executive Office of the Governor. She previously served as chief of staff to director of the Department of Environmental Quality Heidi Grether and in various roles within the Michigan Agency for Energy. She will represent the general public and replace Ronna Romney McDaniel.
West will serve a four-year term expiring June 30, 2021. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
