Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to the State Plumbing Board

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Scott Kalchik of Northville to the State Plumbing Board.
The seven-member board assists the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs with overseeing the licensure of plumbers to ensure the integrity of Michigan's plumbing industry.
“Scott brings years of hands-on experience and I’m confident he will be a positive addition to this board,” Snyder said.
Kalchik is the president and owner of S.E. Kalchik Mechanical which he opened in 1999. He is a licensed plumbing contractor, mechanical contractor, and master plumber in Michigan. Kalchik attended Madonna University. He will represent licensed plumbing contractors who hold a master's license and have at least 10 years of experience as a plumbing contractor. He will replace Curt McNitt.
Kalchik will serve a three-year term expiring July 31, 2020. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
