Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to the Michigan Freedom Trail Commission

LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Kerry Baldwin of Grand Rapids to the Michigan Freedom Trail Commission.
Established in 1998, the commission preserves and promotes the legacy of the Underground Railroad's Freedom Trail in Michigan.
"I thank Kerry for her commitment to preserving this important piece of Michigan history," said Snyder.
Baldwin is a development director for the Saint Thomas Education Foundation. She serves as a Heritage Hill Historic District Block Captain, an Epworth Historical Society committee member, and a Grand Rapids Historic Preservation Commissioner. Baldwin holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial arts and English from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in school counseling from Grand Valley State University. She will represent individuals knowledgeable in historic preservation and replace James Turner.
Baldwin will serve a four-year term expiring Feb. 1, 2021.
