Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to the State Building Authority Board of Trustees

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of James Mburu of Lansing to the State Building Authority Board of Trustees.
The five-person board oversees the State Building Authority, which issues and sells bonds and notes to acquire equipment and construct facilities.
“I thank James for his commitment to this board and I am confident he will be a positive asset,” Snyder said.
Mburu is a financial center manager for Fifth Third Bank, and also provides aerospace medical services to the Michigan Air National Guard and U.S. Air Force. He was previously the owner and CEO of CareConnect LLC and the CareConnect Learning Center. Mburu holds an associate’s degree in pre-nursing from Lansing Community College. He will replace Stephen D’Arcy.
He will serve a four-year term expiring Aug. 21, 2021. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
