LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Erin McDonough of Williamston to the Natural Resources Trust Fund Board.

The board oversees the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund, which provides financial assistance to local governments and the Department of Natural Resources to purchase land or rights in land for public recreation or protection. The program also provides funding for recreation development projects such as trail and park development.

“Protecting Michigan’s natural resources is incredibly important and I thank Erin for her continued commitment,” Snyder said.

McDonough is the president and CEO of the Michigan Oil and Gas Association, and was previously the executive director of Michigan United Conservation Clubs, and a water resources coordinator for the National Wildlife Federation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and hydrogeology from Central Michigan University and a master’s degree in resource policy and behavior from the School of Natural Resources and the Environment at the University of Michigan.

McDonough will serve a four-year term expiring Oct. 1, 2021. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
