LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Rony Foumia of Commerce Township as well as the reappointments of Victoria Tutag Lehr of Birmingham and Bradley Uren of Pinckney to the Michigan Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
Housed within the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, the 11-member board advises the department on issues affecting prescription drug coverage for its various health care programs.
"I thank these individuals for their commitment to this committee and I believe their background in pharmacy and medicine will be a positive asset,” Snyder said.
Appointment:
Foumia is a pharmacy district manager and regional vice president in training for Rite Aid Corporation and serves as an adjunct professor at Wayne State University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Wayne State University. He will represent pharmacists and replace James Mathews.
Reappointments:
Tutag Lehr is a professor of pharmacy practice-clinical with the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Wayne State University. She also is a clinical pharmacy specialist with the pediatric pain management program at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. She holds a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Ferris State University and a Ph.D. from Wayne State University. She will continue to represent pharmacists and serve as the chair for a term expiring at the pleasure of the governor.
Uren is a clinical assistant professor of emergency medicine at the University of Michigan Health System. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Michigan Technological University and a medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. He will continue to represent physicians.
Members will serve two-year terms expiring Oct. 1, 2019.
