Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointments to the Board of Speech-Language Pathology

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointments of Ryan Burklow of Livonia and Katie Wright of Battle Creek to the Board of Speech-Language Pathology.
The 11-member board assists the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs with regulating the licensure and practice of speech-language pathologists.
"Ryan and Katie have a wide range of experience that I believe will be a positive asset to this board," said Snyder.
Burklow is a communications representative in the Executive Office of Governor Rick Snyder. He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Wayne State University. He will represent the general public and replace Lynee Wells.
Wright is a speech language pathologist at Laurels of Bedford in Battle Creek. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Northern Michigan University and a master’s degree in speech-language pathology from California University of Pennsylvania. She will represent professionals and replace Eric Dwyer.
Burklow will serve a four-year term to expire Dec. 31, 2020, and Wright will serve the remainder of a four-year term to expire Dec. 31, 2019. Member appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
