Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointment to the Library of Michigan Board of Trustees

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Stacy Nowicki of Kalamazoo to the Library of Michigan Board of Trustees.

The 13-member board makes general policy and budgetary recommendations concerning the Library of Michigan to the Michigan Department of Education. In addition to the governor's appointees, the board consists of members appointed by the Senate Majority Leader, the Speaker of the House, and the minority leaders of the Senate and House.

“I thank Stacy for her commitment to preserving Michigan’s history as well as supporting research and other libraries across the state,” Snyder said.

Nowicki is library director for Kalamazoo College, Title IX coordinator for Kalamazoo College, and an attorney for Nowicki Legal PLC. She served as association director for digital resources and access services and as a reference librarian at Kalamazoo College. Nowicki holds a bachelor’s degree in music history and theory from Oberlin College, a master’s degree in library and information science from Dominican University, a Ph.D. in information science from Nova Southeastern University, and a law degree from Cooley Law School. She will continue to represent librarians from a college or university.

Nowicki will serve a three-year term to expire October 1, 2020. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
