Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointments to the State Survey and Remonumentation Commission

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointments of Andrew Hartwick of Shelbyville and William Karr of Pickford to the State Survey and Remonumentation Commission.

The seven-member commission consults with the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to create and distribute a model county plan that may be adopted by a county with any changes appropriate for that county.

"I thank Andrew and William for their continued commitment to this commission," Snyder said.

Hartwick is the owner and principal of the geographic information systems and data network consulting company Anderwylde LLC, and previously served as the geographic information systems director for St. Joseph County. He holds a bachelor’s degree in geography and a master’s degree in geographic information science from Central Michigan University. He will continue to represent the general public.

Karr is a senior project representative for Sidock Group. Previously, he was the principal and owner of Northwoods Land Surveying Inc. for more than 30 years. He is a member of the Michigan and the National Societies of Professional Surveyors, and holds a bachelor’s degree in forestry from Michigan Technological University. He will continue to represent surveyors from the Upper Peninsula.

Members serve four-year terms expiring Oct. 20, 2021. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
