LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Amna Osman of Grand Blanc to the State Council for Interstate Adult Offender Supervision.
The five-member council guides the transfer of offenders in a manner that promotes effective supervision strategies consistent with public safety, offender accountability, and victims’ rights.
“Amna’s background makes her a great choice to serve on this council,” Snyder said.
Osman is the president and CEO of HAVEN, an organization providing shelter, counseling, advocacy, and educational programs to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. She previously owned and operated a consulting firm in Grand Blanc. Osman holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the United States International University and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Michigan. She will represent crime victims and replace Keith Clark.
Osman will serve a four-year term expiring Oct. 31, 2021.
