Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointments to the Michigan Women's Commission

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointments of Rose Brandow of Beverly Hills and Barbara Land of Waterford to the Michigan Women’s Commission.
The 15-member commission addresses complex issues which impact Michigan women, including providing support for female veterans, fighting human trafficking and assisting women business owners.
“I thank Rose and Barbara for serving on this commission and I am confident their work will continue to support millions of women across the state of Michigan,” Snyder said.
Brandow is a senior professional at FCA US LLC, and recently served as the resident engineering and quality manager at the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit. She is an Inforum Executive Leadership graduate, and served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Automotive Women’s Alliance Foundation. Brandow holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Lawrence Technological University and a master’s degree in product development from the University of Detroit Mercy. She will fill a vacancy.
Land is the operations director for Square One Education Network, responsible for creating, implementing and funding the promotion of STEM projects in K-12 learning across the great lakes region. She holds an associate’s degree from Oakland Community College and is completing her bachelor’s degree at Oakland University. She will replace Bobbie Gaunt.
Brandow will serve the remainder of a three-year term expiring July 15, 2018 and Land will serve a three-year term expiring July 15, 2020. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
