Gov. Rick Snyder's statement on House passage of Career Pathways legislation

Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017

Gov. Rick Snyder issued the following statement after the Michigan House of Representatives passed a bill package that would expand opportunities for students to explore career pathways in Michigan:

“I thank my partners in the House of Representatives for passing this bill package that will help bolster career education, awareness and skills training in our state’s schools.  Michigan employers need a strong pipeline of talent, and these bills help create a framework to connect students with opportunities to learn more about potential careers and gain the skills needed to be successful in the 21st Century economy.

“Ensuring Michigan’s students have access to a variety of career pathways and the right resources to explore the good jobs available in our state is critical in our work to close the talent gap and meet the demands of our growing workforce. I look forward to working with my partners in the Senate in January to get this important framework in place.”
