Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointments to the Michigan Board of Massage Therapy

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointments of Katie Kiter of Lansing and Beth Miazga of Fenton to the Michigan Board of Massage Therapy.

Housed within the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, the 11-member board plays an advisory role overseeing the practice of massage therapists.

"I thank Katie and Beth for their continued commitment to this board," Snyder said.

Kiter is the meetings and education coordinator for the National Association of College and University Food Services, and previously served as the membership and events coordinator for the Michigan Water Environment Association. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. She will continue to represent the general public.

Miazga is a massage therapist at the Center for Plastics and Reconstruction and previously served as the program manager at the Frankel Cardiovascular Center at Michigan Medicine. She attended the Ann Arbor Institute of Massage Therapy. She will continue to represent massage therapists.

Members will serve four-year terms expiring Dec. 31, 2021. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
