Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointment to the Michigan Board of Respiratory Care

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Jonathan Vono of Shelby Township to the Michigan Board of Respiratory Care.

Housed within the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, the 11-member board assists in overseeing the licensure requirements and standards for Michigan's respiratory therapists.

"I thank Jonathan for his commitment to overseeing the respiratory care profession in Michigan," said Snyder.

Vono works for the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit as a clinical manager and previously served as the education coordinator in respiratory therapy. He also worked for St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Clinton Township as a respiratory therapy technician. Vono holds an associates of applied science in respiratory therapy from Macomb Community College and a bachelor’s degree concerntrating in psychology, science, and technological studies, and technological change in a global environment from the University of Michigan. He will continue to represent respiratory therapists.

Vono will serve a four-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2021. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
