Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to the Michigan Board of Cosmetology

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Gabriella Abel of Okemos to the Michigan Board of Cosmetology.
The nine-member board advises and assists the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs in overseeing the cosmetology profession.
“I thank Gabriella for her commitment to overseeing the cosmetology profession and I am confident she will serve this board well,” Snyder said.
Abel is a communications representative for the Executive Office of Governor Rick Snyder. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University. She will represent the general public and replace Marcie Otteman.
Abel will serve the remainder of a four-year term to expire Dec. 31, 2020. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
