Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to the Michigan Veterans' Memorial Park Commission

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Jim Dunn of Petoskey to the Michigan Veterans’ Memorial Park Commission.
Housed within the Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) the seven-member commission advises DTMB on the development, management and maintenance of the Veterans’ Memorial Park, the operation of programs exclusive to the park, and the security services and enforcement of rules for the care and preservation of the park.
“I thank Jim for his commitment to honoring Michigan's brave veterans,” Snyder said.
Dunn recently retired as deputy director of the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency. Prior to joining the agency, Dunn served as the president of James Dunn, PLLC and previously served as a captain in the United States Army, serving two tours in Vietnam. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a juris doctor degree from Thomas M. Colley Law School. He will fill a vacancy.
Dunn will serve the remainder of a three-year term expiring Dec. 18, 2018. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
