Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to the Library of Michigan Board of Trustees

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Beata Kica of Lansing to the Library of Michigan Board of Trustees.

The 13-member board makes general policy and budgetary recommendations concerning the Library of Michigan to the Michigan Department of Education. In addition to the governor's appointees, the board consists of members appointed by the Speaker of the House, House Minority Leader and both the Senate Majority and Minority Leaders.

“I thank Beata for her support of the Library of Michigan,” Snyder said. “I am confident her knowledge and experience will aid her in serving the committee and the people of Michigan well.”

Kica is a constituent relations representative within the Executive Office of Governor Rick Snyder. She is a graduate of Michigan State University. She will represent the general public and replaces Carla Hills.

Kica will serve a three-year term expiring Oct. 1, 2020. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
