LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Jodi Wiley of Lansing as well as the reappointment of Charlie Franklin of Southfield to the Michigan Board of Massage Therapy.
Housed within the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, the 11-member board plays an advisory role overseeing the practice of massage therapists.
"Jodi and Charlie have a great deal of experience and I thank them for their willingness to use that knowledge to improve this field," Snyder said.
Appointment:
Wiley is a massage therapist at MassageSmith in Lansing and an adjunct instructor in the massage program at Lansing Community College. She is also the founder of the Capital Area Down Syndrome Association. Wiley holds a bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University and a massage therapy certificate from Lansing Community College. She will represent massage therapists and replace Nicole Lennox.
Reappointments:
Franklin is a licensed massage therapist and has served as the owner and operator of Holistic Fitness Consultants for nearly 30 years. He is a retired member of the U.S. Army and the Michigan Army National Guard and currently serves as an American Massage Therapy Association board member. Franklin holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Northwood University. He will continue to represent massage therapists.
Members will serve four-year terms expiring Dec. 31, 2021. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
