Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to Board of Acupuncture

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of John Sealey of Orchard Lake to the Board of Acupuncture.
Housed within the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, the 13-member board oversees the licensure and practice of acupuncture.
“John’s years of medical experience give me confidence that he will bring great perspective to this board,” Snyder said.
Sealey is the director of medical education and a designated institutional official for Authority Health as well as the president of the Michigan Osteopathic Association board of trustees. He holds a bachelor’s degree in organic chemistry from North Carolina Central University and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University. He will represent physicians and fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Susan Fabrick.
Sealey will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring June 30, 2021. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
