Thursday, April 26, 2018

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Mark Wagenshutz of Canton to the Automobile Theft Prevention Authority Board of Directors.

Housed in the Michigan State Police, the seven-member board consists of law enforcement officials, automobile insurers and consumers of automobile insurance. In partnership with law enforcement agencies, prosecutors’ offices, and nonprofit community organizations, the board works to reduce auto thefts in the state.

“I am confident that Mark’s experience will benefit this board and their efforts to prevent auto theft across Michigan,” Snyder said.

Wagenshutz is the executive director of the Michigan Automobile Insurance Placement Facility, previously serving as a planning and strategy manager for State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Hope College and a master’s degree in organizational communications from Western Michigan University. He will represent automobile insurers doing business in the State and fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Fausto Martin.

Wagenshutz will serve the remainder of a four-year term to expire July 1, 2018. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
