LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointments of Lawrence Black of Pinckney, Chris Lanzon of Harrison Township, and Dale Palmer of Byron Center to the Board of Boiler Rules.
The 11-member board formulates definitions and rules for the safe construction, installation, inspection, and repair of boilers in the state.
“I thank these individuals for their continued commitment to overseeing boiler licensees in Michigan,” Snyder said.
Black is the field services supervisor for Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company. He has been with the company for more than 30 years and holds a Michigan Boiler Special Inspector’s License. Black previously served in the U.S. Navy as an engine room supervisor, leading engineer, laboratory technician, and drill monitor. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physics and sociology from the University of the State of New York. He will continue to represent boiler insurance companies.
Lanzon is the superintendent at Detroit Boiler Company. Over his 23-year career in the industry, he has gained experience as an estimator, project manager, and quality control manager. He previously served in the U.S. Army as a combat medic and EMT. Lanzon is a licensed boiler repairer and boiler installer. He received his diploma from the Boilermakers National Apprenticeship Program. He will continue to represent boiler repair contractors.
Palmer is the owner and president of Dean Boiler Inc. in Grand Rapids. He holds a Michigan Boiler Installation & Repair License and a Michigan Mechanical License. He will continue to represent fire tube boiler manufacturers.
Members will serve four-year terms to expire July 31, 2022. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
