Thursday, June 7, 2018

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Jeffrey Mills of Allegan to the Michigan Public School Employees’ Retirement System Board.

The board is responsible for general oversight of retirement, survivor and disability benefits to employees in public school districts, intermediate school districts, community colleges and certain universities.

“The experience Jeffrey has gained from his years of being an educator gives me confidence he will lend important perspective and ideas to this board,” Snyder said. “I thank him for his willingness to represent superintendents.”

Mills is superintendent of Van Buren Intermediate School District and has been an educator for more than 28 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in general educational administration from Central Michigan University. He will represent school superintendents and fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Scott Koenigsknecht.

Mills will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring March 30, 2021. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
