Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointment to the Board of Audiology

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Teresa Zwolan of Ann Arbor to the Michigan Board of Audiology.
The nine-member board licenses and regulates audiologists practicing in Michigan.
“I thank Teresa for her commitment to overseeing audiology in Michigan,” Snyder said. “She has a passion for audiology that gives me confidence she will serve this board well.”
Zwolan is a clinical professor and the director of the Cochlear Implant Program for the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Michigan. She is a co-founder of the American Cochlear Implant Alliance and serves on the board of directors as the Nominating Committee chair. She also serves on the Cochlear Corporation Audiology Advisory Committee, the MEDEL Audiology Advisory Board and the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation / FDA Standards on Cochlear Implants Committee. Zwolan holds a bachelor’s degree in audiology and speech sciences from Purdue University, and a master’s degree and a doctorate in audiology and hearing impairment from Northwestern University. She will continue to represent professionals.
Zwolan will serve a four-year term expiring June 30, 2022. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the state Senate.
