LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Reginald Bluestein of East Pointe to the Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board.
The 11-person board promotes the health, safety and welfare of Michigan's children and families by funding local programs and services that prevent child abuse and neglect.
“Reginald has worked with children, families and community members for many years. His involvement has given him great insight that will be beneficial to keeping children and families safe," said Snyder.
Bluestein is the deputy director of C.A.R.E. Ministries, a faith-based organization based in Detroit, and serves as bishop and senior pastor for the Foundation of Love. He will represent the religious community and fill a vacancy.
Bluestein will serve the remainder of a three-year term expiring Dec.19, 2019. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
