LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Patricia Niepoth of Central Lake to the Electronic Recording Commission.
Housed within the Department of Technology, Management, and Budget, the commission establishes standards and practices to ensure county registers of deeds are consistent with the standards and practices of offices in other jurisdictions.
“Patricia’s professional experience will be a valuable asset to the commission,” Snyder said. “I thank her for donating her time to this commission.”
Niepoth worked in the Antrim County Register of Deeds office for 13 years before being elected as the register of deeds in 2001. She studied word processing at Northwestern Michigan College and will represent county registers of deeds. She will fill the vacancy created by the passing of Lori Jarvis.
Niepoth will serve the remainder of a two-year term expiring Jan. 1, 2019. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
