Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to the Michigan Veterans Trust Fund Board of Trustees

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Melissa LaBruzzy of Schoolcraft to the Michigan Veterans Trust Fund Board of Trustees.
The seven-member board oversees trust fund expenditures and awards grants to eligible combat-era veterans and their families to relieve temporary financial emergencies or hardships.
“The Michigan Veterans Trust Fund Board of Trustees is vital to ensuring veterans receive the resources they need to regain their footing during difficult times,” Snyder said. “I thank Melissa for joining this board and representing veterans.”
LaBruzzy is the human resource superintendent at the 110th Force Support Squadron in Battle Creek, a position she has held since 1997. Previously, she served as a law enforcement officer with the United States Air Force. LaBruzzy holds a bachelor’s degree from Cornerstone University and a master’s degree in human resource management from Central Michigan University. She will serve as an Independent and represent veterans and replace Brandi McBride.
LaBruzzy will serve a three-year term expiring Feb. 25, 2021.
