Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointment to the Commission on Middle-Eastern American Affairs

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Suzanne Sukkar of Ypsilanti to the Commission on Middle-Eastern American Affairs.

Established by Executive Order 2015-6, the 15-member commission was created to act in an advisory capacity to the Governor and is housed within the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.

“I thank Suzanne for her commitment to this commission,” Snyder said. “Her passion for creating equal opportunity for Michigan residents gives me confidence she will bring great perspective to this commission.”

Sukkar is of counsel at Dickinson Wright, PLLC, specializing in immigration law. She is president of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, board treasurer for the American Arab Chamber of Commerce and a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and Spanish from the University of Michigan and a law degree from Wayne State University Law School.

Sukkar will serve a four-year term expiring April 19, 2022.
