Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointments to the Board of Barber Examiners

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointments of Peter Dellisse of Menominee and Jeffrey Jenson of Traverse City to the Board of Barber Examiners.

The nine-member board is housed in the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs and assists the department with oversight for the services of barbers, barber students, barber colleges, barber instructors, student instructors and barbershops in Michigan.

"I thank Peter and Jeffrey for using their experience and knowledge to lend insight to this board," Snyder said. ”I am confident they will serve the board well.”

Dellisse has owned and operated The Clip Joint Barbershop for 25 years. He has also barbered for county jails, nursing homes and hospitals. He will represent barbers and replace Robert Morey.

Jenson is the owner of Bulldogs Barbershop in Traverse City. Before pursuing a career as a barber, Jenson spent 17 years with the human resource company Omni Resource, Inc. He holds a bachelor’s degree in geography from Western Michigan University and a master’s degree in finance from Michigan State University. He will represent barbers and replace Jordan Dutcher.

Members will serve four-year terms expiring Sept. 30, 2022. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
