Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointment to Natural Resources Trust Fund Board of Trustees

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Samuel Cummings of Grand Rapids to the Natural Resources Trust Fund Board of Trustees.
The board oversees the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund, which provides financial assistance to local governments and the Department of Natural Resources to purchase land or rights in land for public recreation and conservation. The program also provides funding for recreation development projects such as trail and park development.
“Sam has many skills and experiences that give me confidence he will continue to provide excellent insight to this board,” Snyder said.
Cummings, current chair of the Trust Fund Board, is principal and managing partner of CWD Real Estate Investment. He is a board member of the Economic Club of Grand Rapids and a member of the National Association of Realtors. Previously, Cummings served on the board of trustees for the Grand Rapids Community Foundation and the Grand Rapids Art Museum. He earned a bachelor's degree in business and English from Calvin College.
Cummings will serve a four-year term expiring Oct.1, 2022. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
