Christine Apostol

Deputy Director of Administration

Christine Apostol joined the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) in April 2024 as the Deputy Director of Administration. Christine serves as the agency’s Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for the management and oversight of administrative functions conducted within the MGCB, including budget, purchasing, agency records, FOIA requests, agency security, business continuity planning, and information technology services delivery. She also serves as the agency’s Internal Control Officer and is responsible for the completion of the biennial Internal Control Evaluation.

Christine began her career with the State of Michigan as an accountant with the Department of Technology, Management and Budget. She joined the Department of Military and Veteran Affairs (DMVA) in 2001 as a financial analyst and was then promoted to Budget Section Manager, where she assisted with the development, implementation, and monitoring of the department’s budget and managed the day-to-day operations of the Budget Section, including Records Management, FOIA, and the Michigan National Guard State Tuition Assistance Program. Christine was then promoted to DMVA’s Chief Financial Officer responsible for managing the department’s budget, purchasing, and information technology. She also served as DMVA’s Internal Control Officer.

Christine holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University.
