Responsible Gaming

Michigan’s gaming industry has expanded over the years with additional forms of legalized gaming.  The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) regulates commercial casinos, horse racing, millionaire parties, internet gaming, internet sports betting, and fantasy sports.  Other forms of legalized gaming include tribal casinos and lottery. The MGCB offers information and resources on responsible gaming.

Problem Gambling Helpline and Resources

When individuals call 1-800-GAMBLER, they are connected to Michigan’s Problem Gambling Helpline, which provides 24/7 support and resources for those experiencing a gambling problem or who are concerned about someone they know. Trained professionals under contract with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) respond by phone or virtually, coordinate initial consultations with qualified counselors, offer information about financial assistance, and oversee ongoing treatment for clients when necessary.
