Detroit casinos third quarter and September revenues and wagering taxes reported

Detroit - Aggregate revenue for the three Detroit casinos rose 0.8 percent during the third quarter of 2015 compared with third quarter 2014 results.  Year-to-date revenue increased 3.5 percent compared with the same period last year.

During September, the casinos’ monthly revenue grew 4.3 percent compared with the same month in 2014. September revenue was 0.1 percent higher than August 2015 results.

Market shares for September 2015 were:

  • MGM, 42 percent
  • MotorCity, 33 percent
  • Greektown, 25 percent
  • The three Detroit casinos paid $26.7 million in state gaming taxes during the quarter compared with $26.5 million for the third quarter of 2014.

    Monthly state gaming taxes for the three Detroit casinos were $8.7 million compared with $8.4 million for September 2014.
