Lake City Man Arrested for Aggravated Distributing Child Sexually Abusive Activity

The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is announcing the arrest of Jamie Earl Schepers, 55 of Lake City, for aggravated distributing child sexually abusive activity, aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime.
Schepers was arrested following an investigation which began when a tip was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). A search of Schepers’s residence resulted in digital evidence being seized.
Schepers was charged with one count of aggravated distributing and promoting child sexually abusive activity, four counts of aggravated possession child sexually abusive material, one count of using a computer to commit a crime and one count of failure to comply with sex offender reporting duties. Schepers was arraigned in the 84th Judicial District Court on Wednesday, February 25.
The ICAC Task Force was assisted by the MSP Cadillac Post, the MSP 7th District Emergency Support Team, the MSP Cyber K9 and the 7th District Fugitive Team.
