Event Types:
Baseline Fitness Test: The first step of the MSP hiring process. Applicants must complete sit-ups, push-ups, and a half-mile shuttle run. Passing scores are determined based on the MCOLES Pre-Employment Fitness Test standards. Applicant Preparation Sessions are available to help prepare prospective applicants for this testing as well as the rigors of recruit school. These sessions can be located through the district recruiters.
Applicant Preparation Session (APS): MSP members host Applicant Preparation Sessions to provide regular water safety, physical training, and legal instruction at no cost to applicants. These sessions are intended to prepare applicants for recruit school and are considered extremely beneficial, but not required.
Hiring Events: MSP recruiters will be on-site to administer the entry-level law enforcement exam and assist with applications for trooper, motor carrier officer, and emergency dispatcher positions.
