Rapid City Man Arrested for Aggravated Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material

The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is announcing the arrest of David Michael Rauch, 38 of Rapid City, for aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime.

Rauch was arrested following an investigation which began when a tip was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). A search of Rauch’s residence resulted in digital evidence being seized.

Rauch was charged with two counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime. Rauch was arraigned in the 87-B Judicial District Court on Wednesday, March 25.

The ICAC Task Force was assisted by the MSP 7th District Emergency Support Team, Traverse Narcotics Team (TNT North), MSP Houghton Lake Post, and the Kalkaska County Sheriff’s Department.
