OCEANA COUNTY, MICH. The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is announcing the arrest of Daniel Jay Bowman, 31 of Shelby, for aggravated distribution of child sexually abusive activity, aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, and using a computer to commit a crime.
Bowman was arrested following an investigation which was initiated by the ICAC Task Force when it was learned that Bowman may have accessed and shared illicit content on the internet. A search of his residence resulted in digital evidence being seized. The MSP Hart Post assisted with the investigation.
Bowman was charged with one count of child sexually abusive activity – aggravated distributing or promoting, one count of child sexually abusive material – aggravated possession, and one count of using a computer to commit a crime. Bowman was arraigned in the 79th District Court of Oceana County on Thursday, August 6.
