Outdoor Adventure Center - Oct. 5, Sensory-Friendly Day
Outdoor Adventure Center - Oct. 5, Sensory-Friendly Day
The DNR Outdoor Adventure Center welcomes friends and families with sensory processing differences to our sensory-friendly building hours!
Enjoy the opportunity to explore and experience the OAC with building sounds and ambient noises at a lower volume. During your visit, there will be a quiet room with sensory materials available to use. At noon, the building will open to the public, with volumes returning to standard operating levels. All staff are KultureCity-certified to ensure the best possible experience.
In October, we’re celebrating Halloween and fall. Join us for fall fun! We will have a range of activities, including trick-or-treating – costumes encouraged, but no masks, please.
Don't miss our Accessibility Hours 1-4 p.m. on Oct. 16 to kick off our Train Expo: Detroit on Track! During these hours, guests can explore a model train exhibit, activities and displays provided by the Lakeshore Garden Railway Club, Michigan Transit Museum, Operation Lifesaver and the Grand Trunk Western Historical Society. Participate in a craft and giveaway (while supplies last). Please note, last admission is at 3:30 p.m.
